Malvern is back. Now let's build what comes next.

Thank you. Our Malvern court was restored in September, after the community spoke up. It showed what we can do when we show up together.

But one court isn't enough for 29 clubs and more than 1,000 players and families. Our tournaments need several courts running at once, and many of our games go on into the evening after work.

Why we can't just use a soccer field

Tamil volleyball is played on grass, with the nets held up by stakes driven into the ground. City soccer and sports fields don't allow that, so even when a field sits empty, we can't set up on it. Without a permitted space, clubs end up borrowing school yards and corners of parks wherever they can.

What we're asking the City for

• Room for four courts side by side, so tournaments can run in one place.
• Permission to anchor nets in the ground, or permanent net posts.
• Stadium lights, so games can run on weeknights and summer evenings.
• In Scarborough, where CTVA has played since 1989.

This space would never be just for the Tamil community. Our courts have always welcomed everyone who loves volleyball, whatever their background, and this one will too.
